LRRGA is confirming public access points before publishing the map. Use the upper, middle, and lower river planning notes below in the meantime, and verify access before every trip.

SECTION ONE

Upper River

Primary public access: JFK Park and Swinging Bridge.

This upper reach is closest to Greers Ferry Dam. Check generation and the Heber Springs gauge before wading or launching, and use only clearly marked public facilities.

SECTION TWO

Middle River

Primary public access: Lobo Landing.

The middle river is a longer reach where water arrival times and navigation conditions can differ from the upper river. Check the Pangburn gauge and confirm access before your trip.

SECTION THREE

Lower River

Primary public access: Dripping Springs, Ramsey, and Highway 305.

Generation reaches the lower river later, and warm-weather conditions can vary. Check the Dewey gauge and temperature reading before planning this reach.

Best Places to Wade

Wading opportunities depend on generation, river level, current speed, and the exact access point. Use designated public areas, confirm conditions, and avoid entering water that is rising or difficult to read.

Running a Prop

Low-water navigation requires suitable equipment, a clear understanding of shallow hazards, and careful speed control. When in doubt, use an experienced local guide.

Be a Good Neighbor

Use designated ramps, minimize wakes and noise near homes and other anglers, pack out litter, and respect private property throughout the river corridor.
